by Jim Berlin // CEO of Logistics Plus Inc.
By now most of you may have heard of the murder of our friend and former colleague, Lindsay Graygo, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Lindsay had worked for Logistics Plus for a couple of years before she left last year to pursue what she was trained to do at Penn State–marketing–taking a job at Splash Universe in Dundee, Michigan.

She was an absolutely wonderful person, one of those people who light up when they meet someone, who can carry on conversations with anyone, saying just the right thing for the occasion. She would also be up for almost anything–volunteering her time to do whatever needed to be done at work, helping out with others’ tasks when she had the time. In fact, when Logistics Plus was retained by Fluor Corp. the day after Hurricane Katrina hit, and we had to send a team down to Louisiana to help bring temporary housing into the distressed areas, Lindsay volunteered to go–roughing it–living with 4 other LP guys in a trailer, pitching in, helping keep spirits high–doing good and making us all proud.
She was beautiful, with the most exquisite eyes you’ve ever seen, and her smile could light up a room. She left LP and Erie with much love and many hugs and was off onto a new adventure. “Guest Relations Manager”–what better job for a people person like Lindsay. I heard from her that she loved working there, and I am sure that if I talked to her managers and co-workers, that they loved having her.
Our heart goes out to Lindsay’s parents, whom we got to know. There is no greater pain in life than losing a child. (and kids, you may not realize it, but even when you are 29 and long out on your own, you are still “our kids”). I think every parent, in some part of their being, lives life dreading something like this ever happening–I know I do. This is our worst nightmare. I can’t imagine how hard this is for them. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Betty and Hank.
Please know that her Logistics Plus friends and family will remember Lindsay always as a wonderful, giving person, so fun to be around–so full of life, and of spirit.
“Dust thou art, to dust returnest, was not spoken of the soul”.
We will meet again someday, Lindsay.
Love always,
JB

What a heartbreaking and terrible loss. As a mother, I cannot imagine the pain and heartache Lindsay’s parents and family are feeling. Lindsay was very lucky to have friends and co-workers who cared so much about her and have such wonderful memories of her life. Although I didnt know Lindsay, it is so easy to see how very much she was loved. Rest in Peace dear Lindsay.

Jim, I have not had the courage to read what you wrote until today, and I just wanted to say thank you for a beautifull description of my cousin, she was everything you said and more.

I met her one day in the parking lot of our complex and she was very sweet, my cat had gotten out and she helped me look for him, though i am sure it made her late to wherever she was heading, it is my hope that her family and friends see this….from a person standing outside of your family circle…Lindsay was a phenomenally sweet and caring young lady, in the few moments i spent with her , her compassion shined through….i didnt get to know her well, and that is a loss i can see by reading about her and seeing how wonderful everyone said she is…..i pray that you all find some comfort and peace….please know that Lindsay touched my heart in that one brief meeting, so i can only assume that she touched many other’s lives…..God has her hand now and she will always be with you all and with me…she taught me that taking the time to help a stranger can make a difference for someone..and i will try to pass that on…for her memory God bless her and her family….someone who cares
