There is this interesting op-ed in the Wall Street Journal today from Jeffrey Scott Shapiro, who interned with John Kerry’s campaign during the 2004 election, and I just wanted to share it with you.
Agree or disagree, it is thought provoking. And a Democrat wrote it.
Tomorrow, the Senate is going to take up the massive bailout of mortgage companies. Democrats are blaming it on Republicans, but is that the truth of the matter? Watch this video and take what you want from it. Then call your senators and congresspeople and tell them to “Kill the Bill”. Enough of them spending […]

Need the info on how we got here in the first place? The Hillman has it here.
When is it going to end?
We’ve bailed out Fannie and Freddie. AIG now belongs to the U.S. Government. Now we’re bailing out half of the investment banking sector. Big Auto now wants a bailout as well.
How much of our money is our federal government going to spend bailing out companies who have made poor decisions?

Republican presidential hopeful Senator John McCain will be making a stop in Erie, staying overnight tonight and giving a speech at General Electric on Monday. He will be appearing at the locomotive plant with former Governor Tom Ridge. This shows how important Pennsylvania is in the upcoming election, and even more - how important jobs […]

Now you guys know that I’m not a big fan of taxes by any means. We here in the United States are taxed fairly heavily, and if certain people get in the White House, expect that to not get that much better. My mother, who lives in the City of Erie, gets taken […]
I recently read another blog concerning cities like Erie. This blog discussed the now infamous “Brain Drain” that urban areas in the north are experiencing, and blames it on the supposed disparity between urban and suburban schools. The argument made is that kids in suburban schools have what they need, and therefore become […]
I live in Richmond, VA and work as a firefighter, but I try to make as many trips back to Erie is as humanly and financially feasible.
Mixing Erie and politics can be dicey, but I'm gonna try to do it here!
