Sorry I haven’t posted, but I’ve been having major computer problems. I’ve been looking into replacing my HP laptop, even before these problems started. I’m seriously considering buying a Mac, knowing that they now can run Windows-based programs.
So what do you think? Should I buy a Mac or a PC?
As always, let me know in the comments section!
I live in Richmond, VA and work as a firefighter, but I try to make as many trips back to Erie is as humanly and financially feasible.
Mixing Erie and politics can be dicey, but I'm gonna try to do it here!

I think that if you plan to run Windows apps, permanently, you might be better off sticking to a PC.
If you plan to use your Windows apps in a transition, consider a Mac. I never cared for the heavy sell, so I’m not giving you one here. Visit an Apple store - they won’t hard sell you either - and play around. Since you’re familiar with PCs and Windows, that’ll let you make an informed decision.
Bring a list of the Windows apps you use that you’d need equivalents to on the Mac and bring that into the store, too.
Either way, I’d wait until after October 14.

I’d vote for a mac too, especially since you can dual-boot to Windows or run a great program like VMWare Fusion. It’s very nice to start up in the morning and be able to start working, not waiting for system updates, virus definition updates, spyware scans, etc.
p.s. new mac laptops will be announced Tuesday, if you can hold off a bit.

Definitely a Mac but don’t buy anything before Tuesday. New MacBooks are being introduced then.

Don’t you know Macs are for smug liberal yuppies with superiority complexes who spend most of their day at Starbucks?
If you fit in that category then feel free to buy a Mac.
Those of us with real jobs and work to do, use PCs.

It is a no brainer. Buy a Mac. They are much more stable, easy to use and you can do everything on them that you can do on a PC.
Plus, if you really really really want to run Windows, well, you can install it on a Mac in addition to using Leopard.
