There is this little snippet on yourerie.com about the Erie County budget being published in electronic form. I’ve said before that Erie is usually ten years behind most everyone else, in this case the County is only about five years behind, so I guess a kudos is in order! From GoErie:
Erie County government’s 2009 budget has entered the digital age. For the first time, the county did not produce paper copies of its budget — opting instead to make the spending package available electronically.
The budget is supposed to have some job cuts in it, so when it comes out we will see where those cuts are. Rumor has it that all departments have been asked to make cuts in order to stave off another tax increase.
Good. It’s about time government start doing with less just like everyone else. Now, if we can get the Feds to do the same…
…yeah right!
I live in Richmond, VA and work as a firefighter, but I try to make as many trips back to Erie is as humanly and financially feasible.
Mixing Erie and politics can be dicey, but I'm gonna try to do it here!
