I think the idea of the article is great, but I wouldn’t call the article that great. Plus, this is problematic:
“Dave Smithee is the pseudonym of a screenwriter and film artist.”
Whenever someone has to hide who they are is typically a red flag.
Personally, “liberal” and “conservative” and picking sides is just another way to stir the pot instead of paying attention to issues and dealing with them.

Yeah, it’s a red-flag alright. If he is a screenwriter and film artist in Hollywood I’m sure he has to hide if he’s a conservative. Personally, I don’t see what’s wrong with picking sides, if you believe that your “side” has the right answers.
