“What If?” is going to take advantage of today’s relative quietness (since half the population is up at the mall) to give a few well-deserved recommendations.

democracyrisingpa—DR is dedicated to helping to bring about transparency in Pennsylvania government. It’s content is non-partisan, and praises positive action as readily as criticizing poor performance. Democracy Rising Pa was founded in 2004 by Tim Potts and Kathleen Daugherty, who have put together a grassroots coalition of dedicated Pennsylvanians whose aim is to transform Pa’s government into one of the best in the Union. It’s a big job, but one worthy of your interest.
Finally, Latinos Restaurant and Bar—Latinos is a locally-owned and operated authentic Mexican restaurant, located at 1315 Parade Street in Erie. All the cooking is expertly handled by Mama Reyes, mother of the owner, Julio Reyes, whose name you’ll recognize as a regular commenter on Global Erie.
The cuisine is the finest Mexican I have ever eaten, and the experience in enhanced by the outstanding service rendered by two delightful young Senoritas, Vera and Natalie, who also designed and executed many of the design components in the interior of the restaurant. They are also family, the niece and daughter of Julio and his wife, Lilia. You can view the menu at their website, here.

I am a life-long resident of Erie County, twenty years of which were spent living in the City of Erie. I retired from the tool-and-die trade two years ago, and now have time to enjoy the opportunity to observe city and county goings-on in more depth.
I hope to create a venue to suggest new ideas and solutions to exisiting problems with my blog, 'What If?'.
