I’ve scheduled an interview this week with Erie’s newly minted Congresswoman, Kathy Dahlkemper, who will be here in D.C. to begin preparing for her new role in January.
It should be a great opportunity to learn more about how she plans to approach being a freshman member of Congress during one of the most challenging times in recent history.
I’ll also be a chance for the GlobalErie community to let Dahlkemper hear what’s on your mind.
I have several questions that I plan to ask Dahlkemper, but I’d like to spend at least a portion of the interview asking her your questions.
To get her questions on the record, post them in the comments area and I’ll see how many I can accommodate.
I’m also working to finalize an interview with current U.S. Rep. Phil English to get his thoughts as he prepares to leave his seat.
I plan to follow the same format in that interview — and I welcome your questions for English in this space, too.
After more than six years working as a journalist in Erie, I'm now the web editor for the Chronicle of Philanthropy in Washington, D.C., and the publisher of GlobalErie.com. I still maintain close ties to Erie - a community that I care about deeply. I hope this Web site can help inspire a better future for Erie.

Kathy since you unseated an incumbent that had tenure on vary committee and did a tremendous job in securing much needed funds for Erie County and other areas. How do you view your climb during your 4 year tenure in helping to network and collaborate in seeing that Erie Countians and Pennsylvania continue to have this type of conduit. I’m a Democrat and dispensing with labels I thought that Phil did a great job in being non-partisan in this respect.

Kathy opposed the $700 billion bailout (if I remember correctly). Will she now oppose distributing the money?

Kathy; what are your plans to bring new good paying jobs to Erie? What are your plans to lower taxes for the suffering masses?? Will you really bring change for the good as you stated or are you going to do what you accused Phil English of doing?
