I mentioned a while back that a group of bloggers from several Rust Belt cities were considering having a first-ever summit in Erie.
Well, it’s going to happen.
My colleagues from Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Youngstown, Buffalo and elsewhere will be joining me in Erie July 11-12 for the first ever Rust Belt Bloggers Summit.
The goal (I think) will be to come up with ways that we all can discuss and push forward regional efforts to improve the economy in these cities.
I’ll keep you posted on the gathering as more details emerge — and hopefully we can get some other GlobalErie bloggers and visitors to join us.
Thanks to Jim Russell at Burgh Disapora for helping to push Erie as an ideal destination for this gathering.
After more than six years working as a journalist in Erie, I'm now the web editor for the Chronicle of Philanthropy in Washington, D.C., and the publisher of GlobalErie.com. I still maintain close ties to Erie - a community that I care about deeply. I hope this Web site can help inspire a better future for Erie.

This sounds like a great way to network with fellow bloggers, I’m there. I’ll set this up as an event in our GlobalErie Facebook group so we can keep everyone in the loop.
