Peter Panepento Peter Panepento covered business, the economy, and local news for the Erie Times-News from 2000 to 2006. Today, he is the web editor for the Chronicle of Philanthropy in Washington, D.C., and a freelance writer with credits in magazines as diverse as Reader’s Digest, Men’s Health, and Computerworld. He writes Outside Erie – a blog that works to bring together people inside and outside of Erie to discuss the community’s future.

Sarah Sampsel Sarah Sampsel has relocated to Washington, D.C. to work as a web designer for The Washington Post. In Erie, she worked as a designer for Cyberink and as an adjunct instructor for the graphic design department at Mercyhurst College. An Erie native and a graduate of Mercyhurst College, Sarah is the creative director for GlobalErie.com.

Jim Berlin Jim Berlin is the founder and chief executive officer of Logistics Plus Inc. – one of Erie’s fastest-growing companies. Jim has been a driving force behind the rehabilitation of Erie’s historic Union Station, which has spawned a wave of development in Erie’s center city. Rob McGahen Rob McGahen was born in Erie and raised in Harborcreek until he finished with his M.B.A. He has now relocated to St. Louis, where he works in Supplier Management for the Integrated Defense Systems division of Boeing. Before he took a job with Boeing, he earned his bachelors and masters degrees from Penn State Behrend and was a member of the Harbor Creek School District Board of Education for over four years.

Doug Berlin Doug Berlin is a Jamestown, NY resident for over 20 years having moved from New York City with his wife and three children. He is just 4 years shy of receiving his degree from Queens College and has been a US Postal Letter Carrier for 33 years. His loves are TV, movies, music and sports. As a baseball fan, Doug roots for 2 teams... the Red Sox and anybody playing the Yank-Mees. I guess that says it all.
